About Dr Vijay Pabbathi
Senior Lecturer in Anatomy and Physiology at the AECC University College in Bournemouth, UK, Vijay has worked for twenty years in higher education institutions throughout the country. Originally studying veterinary medicine in India, he went on to earn his Master of Science in Neuro-Molecular Pharmacology at the University of Bristol and then went on to earn his PhD in Physiology at the same institution, graduating in 2002. In 2012, he received the Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) Award, bolstering his reputation as an educator and as someone who cares about students’ well-being.
In addition to teaching, Vijay supervises research projects at the AECC. He is a member of the British Association of Sports and Exercise Sciences (BASES) and he received the AECC Student-Led Teaching Award (SLTA) for outstanding teaching in 2013, 2014, and 2017. In 2009, Vijay won widespread acclaim for the Re-Booting Cognition (RBC) Technique, which is intended to aid efficient athletic recovery and enhance sports performance. He has since taught his technique to the World Champions in Germany, Norway, Denmark and Belgium.
Vijay’s ethos is to “contribute, succeed and prosper,” innovating as a matter of course and always striving to improve the condition of athletes and teams worldwide. Students whom he has taught are now primary healthcare professionals around the world.
